It’s an odd feeling talking draft in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, but here we are and I am excited for some legitimate NBA action.
Sage’s Scouting Report: Tyrese Maxey
Tyrese is one of the most scheme versatile players in this draft. So he’ll be able to fit our four out scheme. The biggest issue for him would be having the full offensive creating responsibility but with this team that won’t be a problem.
Free Agent Findings: Jeff Green
Jeff Green has been on a different team for the last five years. If the Blazers offer him the full BAE (3.6 Million) for two years, he has a place to call home and the ability to grow some roots in a city and be part of the team’s culture.
Who is Portland’s Missing Piece?
Why not take the contrarian approach and be the team that goes after the draft’s young picks? Drafting young talented players on low salaries contracts is a good move.

Many Basketball operations people want to hit the home run of a draft pick and look past obvious good players. Whenever this draft is, I want us to take the player who can help us in the short and long term. Xavier is one of those guys.
